What Is the Arctic We Need to Sustain the Global Climate System? - workshop
Please note new time above
This Arctic 21 workshop will examine the impact that climate change is having on the Arctic and the rest of the planet, and the responses of institutions including the Arctic Council, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, including the Paris Agreement.
The workshop will look at five areas of Arctic change – permafrost, sea ice, snow cover, the Greenland ice sheet and the Canadian and Alaskan glaciers – and discuss how those impact local lives and the global climate system, drawing from the Arctic Council’s recent updated climate impact assessment (SWIPA). The central focus of the workshop will pose the question, “What is the Arctic we have to have, and how do we get there?”
