The Arts, Crafts and Culture Expo features Alaska artisans, craftspeople and northern vendors participating. With all the other events going on that weekend as part of North by North we expect more than 1,000 visitors. Additionally, performances of song, dance and poetry will occur throughout the two days.

An Arctic Expo featuring vendors from the North, with opportunities to exchange or purchase hand-crafted or northern-made items.


The Expo is open to participation from Alaskan artists and craftspeople, with a special emphasis on northern, western and interior Alaska and the Aleutians. Local and indigenous art and crafts is encouraged. 


Call for Entry: 

Entries to the North x North Arts, Crafts & Culture Expo are juried based on the submission of quality digital images that best represent the applicant’s current work. The highest quality images may be selected for use in promotional materials for these events. The jury selects participants based on the following criteria: quality of work, artistic integrity, interesting demonstration of design, marketability and price levels. Artists are asked to highlight their personal connection to the Circumpolar North or their use materials from the Circumpolar North



Participants are required to be on-site during both days of the entire event to sell their crafts. Participants are expected to be at the museum from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 13-14

Participating artists and designers must adhere to event hours.


Each selected artist should bring materials for conducting transactions, tabletop covering for a 6-by-2-foot or 8-by-2-foot table, extension cords, display extras and light fixtures, as needed. The museum provides up to two tables, two chairs and table skirting.


$250 for both days.


Vendors will be selected by the Alaska Arctic Council Host Committee to participate, based on overall diversity of art and crafts, northern and/or indigenous relationship (why should this work be considered “Arctic”), and quality of work. 

Upon selection, vendors can register at
